In the final post of this 3-part series, we conclude the 1980’s coined term “EM” has come to an end and look at the future for all emerging markets.

In part 2, we examine the rise of Presiden Xi and how his policies brought and end of the Deng Era which started in the late 1970s. And by bringing an end, Xi has inadvertently brought and end to the concept and assumed definitions for emerging markets.

The confirmation of China’s President Xi as “president for life” marks the end of the Deng era and the end of a market framework in place since late 1970s. This is part I of 3 which reviews that 40+ year period.
